CARE & USE GUIDE *
Follow these easy steps for best performance!
Pre-Chill your cooler!
(Remember, if your cooler is warm and if you don’t pre-chill, it will stay warm; the IceWall-designed insulation is fantastic!!)
Use one or two bags of ice, depending on your cooler box or bag size and design you have - get your cooler temperature down to 'cool to the touch' - and overnight if possible. When satisfied, empty this chilled ice out and begin packing. All food and beverages should have come from your home fridge, cold or preferably frozen, for optimum results.
Filling & Using Your Cooler
With your accessories packed in the cooler first, fill your cooler box or bag with ice. A minimum of 1/3 ice is needed - and for best results, you should try to get 2/3 ice to contents/ratio.
Fill your cooler as much as you can. You do not want any air space, as when opened, this has to be re-chilled and can lower your ice retention.
(Remember, keep your cooler closed as much as possible. Only open for as long as needed when placing items in or out, as this will reduce the ice retention times)
Pre-Use & Cleaning
Ensure all cooler surfaces inside and out are cleaned before and after each use. Gently clean around the cooler gasket to ensure no food or drink deposits are left. Don’t forget to clean and dry your plug (Store closed with plug inserted)
To prevent stains, ensure the cooler is stored empty, wiped dry between uses and kept closed for storage.
Use warm water with a mild detergent for general cleaning. Ensure no harsh chemicals or cleaners are used, which may damage or discolour your cooler box or bag.
Keep your cooler closed as much as possible. For example, if you have young children who will access your cooler continuously, consider a separate cooler for food and drinks.
Keep your cooler in a safe and dry location out of the sun when possible. Vehicle temperatures inside can be considerably hotter than outside, affecting your cooler performance.
Great cooler! Had it in the boat on a weeks long fishing trip and only topped up the ice once (had plenty of ice left over after trip). Great selection of colours.
We got our Whiterock 78 within days of ordering it. Even though the delivery driver dropped it off at a house a Kilometer away from our home.... it came in time for my son and I to pack it up for our last Camping trip of the year! The dry basket was a great add in, keeping our eggs cool and dry. The Cutting board/divider was also a great asset to have. We prepared the cooler, Pre-Cooled it with bags of ice for about 12 hrs before packing it for our trip. That ice barely melted so we packed our food on top of that and added a single bag on top! We drained some water when we arrived at our Island camp site 6 hours later.. that was from the ice we used to Pre-Cool the cooler. For Four Days our food stayed cold and a few things still frozen. I never worried at all that our food would spoil. It was great! The cooler also worked as a work station for peeping our food. The fish we caught easily were cleaned and filet’d using the cutting board on top of the cooler. We even brought a few home and they were actually slightly frozen by the time we got home! Straight into the freezer they went for us to enjoy later! I can’t say how impressively our Whiterock 78 worked over the Four days enough!! I have Zero concerns for future trips with it.. Even in the Nasty Humidity we get here in Ontario during the summer months I have full confidence in how it will perform! It’s definitely rugged enough to take anything we will throw at it, and does the job of keeping any Food supplies you may take on a trip with you. We had Milk, Eggs, Bacon, Chicken, Cheese & Butter packed in it just to name the sort of things you may take that you wouldn’t want thawing out or warming upon you too early! Our drinks were Cold too!! Definitely Highly Recommend Whiterock Coolers to anyone in the Market for a performance Cooler.
We bought this cooler because we live on our boats during the summer and needed a cooler that would last for days, and this one does it!
It’s big and really keeps the ice frozen for days!
The only reason why I gave it four stars instead of five is because I wish they would have put latches on the side as well to help keeping the cold in... and if the separator in the middle could be frozen to act as an ice pack vs a cutting board.
